At Iowa Bankers Insurance and Services, Inc., we are committed to supporting our customers and partners through this difficult time as the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to evolve. The safety and health of our customers, employees and communities is our top priority.

How We’re Responding

IBIS has a comprehensive business continuity plan, and we have been meeting daily to evaluate and ensure that appropriate steps are being executed. We want to assure you that our employees are committed to serving you throughout all these changes and will help you navigate these uncharted times.

Here are the measures we are/have taken:

  • Transitioned a significant portion of our staff to work remotely.
  • Reconfiguring our Johnston office to adhere to social distancing recommendations to ensure the safety of employees still working inside the building.
  • Canceled or postponed all IBIS conferences, trainings and other events until May 8. This includes events and meetings scheduled both on-site at our Johnston office and at off-site venues.
  • Prohibited non-essential business travel and are encouraging staff to limit in-person meetings. In the instances where contact is necessary, we are asking our employees to be diligent in performing sanitizing measures before and after customer interactions.
  • Asked that all employees disclose any out-of-the-state travel with their manager and HR. And those returning from recent travel must complete a post-travel questionnaire before returning to work.
  • Increased sanitization efforts throughout our office and are providing employees health agency-recommended hygiene instructions and supplies.

We’re Here for You

Even though a majority of our staff will be working from home, we are committed to providing you customer service with little to no delays or interruptions. To help achieve this, we would like to provide our customers, agents and Iowa Bankers Benefit Plan (IBBP) members with the following suggestions.

Agents/Customers

  • Use the Agent Portal’s secure document upload feature or send us confidential information via secure email for faster delivery. USPS mail sent to our offices may incur processing delays.
  • Sending an email to CustomerService@bankers-Ins.com will be the best way to reach our Agency Services team. Our phone lines will remain open but response times may be slower during the pandemic.

IBBP Members

  • Members insured under the IBBP should use the Benefit Portal to send us important information via secure document upload, email one of the team email boxes below, or use a fax to expedite the processing. USPS mail will be processed but delays in processing time may be experienced.
  • Phone lines will remain open, however, the response time may be slower than normal. Below you will find ways to contact IBBP.

If you are enrolled in the IBIS Advantage 125 Plan (Flex Plan) or the IBIS Advantage 105 Plan, we recommend signing up for electronic notifications to expedite receipt of your explanation of benefits (EOBs) as there will be processing delays with paper. When enrolled in electronic EOBs, members receive an email notification to log into the Benefit Portal to access their online EOB. If you have questions about logging in or setting up electronic EOBs, contact customer service at 800-258-1415 or benefits@bankers-ins.com.
